Some tracks just come along and smack you full in the face. Such is the
case with the lead single from Beth Jeans Houghton’s debut album for
Mute, entitled ‘Liliputt’. This wonderful track dropped on the 14th
November, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the full longplayer. Beth
was much fawned over after the release of her Hot Toast EP,
then seemed to completely fall off the radar. Well fear not, she is back
with a vengeance after falling in love with L.A & spending much of
last year there. The debut album -slated for release on January 23rd – Yours Truly Cellophane Nose
and the tour which follows are full band affairs and on her own terms. I
fail to see how anyone can fail to fall in love with this track, it’s
certainly way up high on my favourite tracks of 2011.
